On the road again

Chosen for the Pastel Society exhibition at the Mall Galleries from 21st Feb. 2017. Large framed pastel on black paper, shapes and forms reminiscent of buildings plants and every day objects.

Another large pastel on the theme of lifes journey. this was one of a series of pastels made in early 2016 based on memory and inspired by music. the work is intuitive and organic, one mark leads to another and changes the balance of the work. while I'm making it I'm glorying in the use of color.

Early Stages

Oil painting with collage in a drop in plain wooden frame, outside framed measurements 97 x 77 cm and the dimensions of the canvas are 91 x 71. This is the first of two paintings I made in 2011 with Elephants embryos (2 grandchildren born within 11 monthes of each other).
